The purpose of the Great Lakes - Region Missionary Operating Committee (RMOC) is to nurture a missionary spirit within the established congregations, sustain existing missionary works and develop new missions. The committee's establishes guidelines and procedures to accomplish this purpose such that everything that is done, must be consistent with the Word and Spirit of God. The Committee will endeavor to lead, guide and inspire others, so that the Salvation of Jesus Christ through the restored gospel is extended to all mankind.
Within the Great Lakes Region, an Inner City Detroit mission has been established to reach out to those in the city of Detroit, in addition to a mission in Redford, Michigan. Two Native American missions have been established in Ontario, Canada, one on the Muncey Reserve, the other on the Six Nations Reserve.
